I love children's books。 I enjoy reading them to any child who will listen。 this one just happens to be one of my favorites。 I love that the author takes the view of the wolf in this story。 In truth by the end of the book, I could almost believe he was framed。This story is cute。 Gives a different look at the 3 Little Pigs fairy tale and in all truth really is one of the cutest stories ever。 I love children's books。 I enjoy reading them to any child who will listen。 this one just happens to be one of my favorites。 I love that the author takes the view of the wolf in this story。 In truth by the end of the book, I could almost believe he was framed。This story is cute。 Gives a different look at the 3 Little Pigs fairy tale and in all truth really is one of the cutest stories ever。 。。。more

This was a cute story! After reading the original 3 little pigs to my daughter she thought this one was pretty funny that the wolf decided to make his own side of the story although she kept saying "he is telling lies" she liked the idea of the wolf making up and telling his side。 This was a cute story! I had this read to me as a kid in school and remembered really loving it, and just read it with 7 y/o for home school, and dang I don’t want the wolf to be in jail, but he’s definitely lying。 🤣

Perfect for children aged 7-12 this imaginative and engaging story is an excellent way to challenge children to consider how a story might look from a different characters perspective。

The True Story of the Three Little Pigs by Jon Scieszka is a fantasy book that puts a spin on the traditional tale of the three little pigs。 The problem in the story the author leads readers to consider is whether or not a crime must be intentionally committed to get in trouble。 The wolf says the death of the three pigs was an accident so he does not believe he should be charged。 This book is great for elementary grade levels and can be used in middle school as well。 There are many aspects of li The True Story of the Three Little Pigs by Jon Scieszka is a fantasy book that puts a spin on the traditional tale of the three little pigs。 The problem in the story the author leads readers to consider is whether or not a crime must be intentionally committed to get in trouble。 The wolf says the death of the three pigs was an accident so he does not believe he should be charged。 This book is great for elementary grade levels and can be used in middle school as well。 There are many aspects of literacy that this story can teach。 For example, teachers can use it to explain the genre of fantasy and its components。 Students can compare the plot of this story to the other versions of the three little pigs and determine differences in theme, plot, and illustrations。 Teachers can use the problem of the story as a discussion in critical literacy and connect it to real life people who feel they should not be committed of a crime。 For read aloud, this text is a little lengthy so young children may have a hard time staying engaged if read in one sitting。 Overall, this picture book is versatile in the ways it can be used to teach。 。。。more

I bought this book for my cousin when he was around seven。 He completely loved this book。 We would sit and read it over and over again for hours。
Eleanor Stout,
I think, when he blowed the first little pig's house down, it did come down。 And when he blowed the next house down, it did come down too。 And I like when there were all these letters made out of materials from the book。 One was made out of sticks, one was made out of bricks, another was made out of hay, one was made out of a pig's nose, and one was made out of the open mouth of the big bad wolf (that was the E), and one was made out of a house (that was the one that couldn't fall down)。 I think, when he blowed the first little pig's house down, it did come down。 And when he blowed the next house down, it did come down too。 And I like when there were all these letters made out of materials from the book。 One was made out of sticks, one was made out of bricks, another was made out of hay, one was made out of a pig's nose, and one was made out of the open mouth of the big bad wolf (that was the E), and one was made out of a house (that was the one that couldn't fall down)。 。。。more

Tells the story of the 3 little pigs from the wolf's perspective。 Is an interesting way to retell a classic tale, would be thoroughly enjoyed by children。Also teaches children the importance of listening to what others have to say。 Tells the story of the 3 little pigs from the wolf's perspective。 Is an interesting way to retell a classic tale, would be thoroughly enjoyed by children。Also teaches children the importance of listening to what others have to say。 。。。more

This book is great to read while comparing and contrasting to other more familiar renditions of the three little pigs story。 It shows that there is more than one side of the story in any situation。

Told from the wolf's perspective, this version of The Three Little Pigs。 is witty and funny。 Though it is a picture book, I would recommend sticking to upper elementary as the humor is more directed at complex thinker's。 The book would be great to use as a comparison/contrast activity。 So funny! I love this POV from the Wolf。 He shows what he believes to be the real truth with the Pigs。 My children laughed their heads off as we read this together。

These children books are amazing。。。In the end this story shows how every single thing is converted into something else by the media just to attract audience。 the fox didn't even get to bake the cake for its granny's b'day and had to spend the rest of his life in prison asking for sugar。Also the fox could have avoided being arrested if the pig just lent it some sugar instead of being rude。 These children books are amazing。。。In the end this story shows how every single thing is converted into something else by the media just to attract audience。 the fox didn't even get to bake the cake for its granny's b'day and had to spend the rest of his life in prison asking for sugar。Also the fox could have avoided being arrested if the pig just lent it some sugar instead of being rude。 。。。more

This is a retelling of the traditional story with some well placed sarcasm。 In this version, the wolf attempts to clear his name by explaining what he was really up to when everyone thought he was intentionally blowing the 2 little pigs houses down。 The wolf claims that he just had a cold and needed to borrow a cup of sugar for his granny's birthday cake when he sneezed and blew the other houses down。 Wolf claims that the only ate the pigs because they couldn't be left out to spoil, but it's up This is a retelling of the traditional story with some well placed sarcasm。 In this version, the wolf attempts to clear his name by explaining what he was really up to when everyone thought he was intentionally blowing the 2 little pigs houses down。 The wolf claims that he just had a cold and needed to borrow a cup of sugar for his granny's birthday cake when he sneezed and blew the other houses down。 Wolf claims that the only ate the pigs because they couldn't be left out to spoil, but it's up to the reader to decide。 I like how this version continues to hit on the theme of the original story that the pig who built a brick home is intelligent/hard working。 。。。more

I enjoyed this book because it is told in a different perspective then what everyone is used to。 Since this version is told by the wolf it has a funny twist to the original three little pigs。 I think this can help students understand that everyone has their own perspective of how things happen and it doesn't mean they're wrong。 I enjoyed this book because it is told in a different perspective then what everyone is used to。 Since this version is told by the wolf it has a funny twist to the original three little pigs。 I think this can help students understand that everyone has their own perspective of how things happen and it doesn't mean they're wrong。 。。。more
